S2 Mini 44: Netflix’s ‘Take Your Pills’ Documentary Misses The Mark

“Every era gets the drug it deserves. In America today, where competition is ceaseless from school to the workforce and everyone wants a performance edge, Adderall and other prescription stimulants are the defining drugs of this generation.” That’s the way IMDB.com describes the new Netflix documentary, “Take Your Pills” produced by Maria Shriver and her daughter Christina Schwarzenegger. Unfortunately, anecdotal evidence is used more than scientific evidence in the film, which could do more harm than good for those with ADHD. Listen as Dr. Hallowell shares his thoughts on how this well-meaning documentary goes off course.

I am so happy to hear people standing up against the disaster that was Take Your Pills. As somebody who successfully takes medication for ADHD, it’s always good to have people on my side. That isn’t always the case.

ADD medicine and like coffee in fact does not stimulate subjects, who have the real ADD/ADHD (which is very often combined with other learning disabilities) it helps them be more normal.
This Netflix Orginal movie is a very cheap sensational film in the same kinda genre of giving opids to cancer patients Take Your Pills and saying everyone is getting high., etc. Perhaps very wealthy mothers can talk a doctor into the meds for kids without real neurological problems , but ADD/ADHD is very real. And the medicine does not affect someone who needs it and has the prognosis ie like a cancer. Patient on pain pills Cheap Trick Film!
